Our team is led by three partners, every client account is managed by a partner; no exceptions.

A support team member may accompany a partner to a client meeting and complete some admin tasks.  However, you have a concern, a question or an issue; you speak directly to a partner.

Doug Middleton
Doug MiddletonPartner
Doug specializes in Group Benefit Plans for companies under 200 employees, commonly referred to as Small Businesses or Small Medium Enterprises (SME). He’s committed to helping businesses develop a Group Plan specific to their needs often incorporating Wellness Programs and Human Resource Software.

Doug is constantly investigating and researching the latest technologies, trends and opportunities available to small businesses and the health of their employees. Doug has a well-rounded knowledge of the benefits industry working at many levels of the business. He started in the industry 20 years ago. Doug has a wealth of insight into the challenges and solutions of small business management.

When he is not in the office, you will find him spending time at the cottage and enjoying time with his three kids.

Mark Ber
Mark BerFounder
Straight talking and hard number crunching – these are the trademarks and secret to Mark’s success as insurance broker, a small business owner and an entrepreneur. He’s involved in private equity placement, multi-unit residential, commercial real estate developments and the transportation industry. He understands the pressures of managing a small business.

With more than 30 years of experience delivering personalized insurance service; he is deeply knowledgeable, highly creative, and has a lifetime of good advice and experience.

Mark’s expertise has been acknowledged in the industry as the
Winner of National Quality Award and Member of Million Dollar Round Table.

Mark’s many passions include travelling, cycling and eating!

Jason Middleton
Jason MiddletonPartner
Jason’s financial and accounting backgrounds allow him to take a comprehensive approach to advanced Estate and Insurance planning for clients. His ‘educate first’ approach resonates well with clients, who feel that his solution-based recommendations are tailored to their individual needs.

Jason earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors in Accounting and Corporate Finance in 1999 from the University of New Brunswick. He began working on his CA with Deloitte and Touche in 2001 after taking a sabbatical to train and try out for the Canadian Olympic Swim Team. Upon returning to the work force Jason completed the CSC and earned his CFP designation in 2003.

When he is not in the office, you will find Jason cycling and chasing after his young kids!

AngieGroup Operations Manager
Angie’s extensive insurance career began over 25 years ago in the employee benefit industry. Angie offers a global perspective – specializing in plan design, marketing and administration.

Angie’s focus is continually on service – whether undertaking the implementation of a new employee benefits program or the transition to a new insurance carrier. Her belief of client satisfaction and striving to provide superior service in a timely matter is harmonious with The Benefits Group vision.

An extraordinary cook, Angie entertains her family and friends on the weekends. (We hope she brings in leftovers!).

CarolynSenior Case Co-ordinator
Carolyn’s extensive insurance career began 17 years ago working for a Wealth Management firm in Vancouver. Carolyn earned her life license and accidental & sickness designation in 2004.

Her entire career has been focused on customer service. She is relationship focused and strives to build long-lasting relationships with her clients. Her dedication and attention to detail is balanced by her ability to multi-task.

Carolyn stays active when she’s not at Producer’s Group, entertaining and golfing. She’s also hockey crazy from the OHL to NHL; just ask her a question about the Leafs!

MitchInformation and Technology Specialist
Mitch is an Information and Technology Specialist dedicated to supporting strategic business decisions with data-driven insights. He considers continual improvement to be important for both business and personal growth.

The newest hire, he’s excited to learn about group benefits and the insurance industry. He hopes to leverage his experience to enhance the client experience at The Benefits Group.

If he is not in the office, you may catch him rock climbing or playing ultimate Frisbee in the park.
